It's early to start ranting, but I feel its going to be one of those kind of days.

Let me start off by saying I am on the fence about whether aliens are visiting us on a regular basis (UFO sightings, abductions..etc..etc)  We do not have any concrete evidence to prove one way or another if they are so I am just  going to stay open minded.  I will also say that anyone who doesn't think life outside of this solar system/galaxy exists needs some serious help.  :-)

Now that I got that out of the way lets get on with todays rant.

I've never been one to customize my homepage to a specific site, I have about 80 links in my favorites so I don't really see the point as I can quickly change to just about any webpage I may want to go to in a matter of seconds. That being said, my homepage when i fire up the interwebs is a comcast page with various links, tidbits of news info and various short videos that range from whats going on in Libya and Japan to what the "stars" are doing or not doing.  Occasionally I will click a link that looks interesting. This mornings link was "UFO sighting in Colorado?"

Me being intrigued by the thought of aliens and or test flight aircraft I clicked it...and boy was that a bad idea...The video starts off with the sounds from Close Encounters of the Third Kind.....then various people's comments are spliced together about what they saw.  You don't actually get to see the video, they only briefly actually discuss the "event"  and the rest of the 2 minute clip is filled with movie clip (E.T) and various people giving options on whether aliens exist.  All in all a waste of 2 minutes.

I am not saying this video is real or fake but I would appreciate a little more journalistic integrity when covering a news story.

March 22 The Movie Edition

I enjoy and take somewhat seriously rating and watching movies on Netflix.

I watched Basic Instinct 2 last night, but I couldn't decide what to rate it.  A part of me believes it wasn't worthy of 3 stars but another part feels that it was.  The debate for me boils down to whether a good/decent movie is a movie that makes me feel any emotion whether that be happiness/sadness/anger/frustation or any other emotion. The problem with that logic is that clearly crappy movies annoy me for wasting time watching them, but this movie isn't as cut and dry.

The movie itself was a decent psychological thriller with a decent story, I would have preferred more T&A but I am a dude what can I say. :-) The main problem was how easily manipulated the main character was.  He did absolutely everything that I would not have done..(well almost everything..hehe) and that annoyed me for about half the movie.  I still kept watching it though as I wanted to see how it would turn out.

So the question is: do I let a flimsy character who did everything wrong within the narrative ruin the rating of the movie (2 stars) or do I give it 3 stars because his weakness of character annoyed me and I became emotionally involved in his story.

I shall ponder...

I do rather enjoy the cover.

I will have to add something on the blog today. Just not sure what.  So much annoys me.  The Libyan mess,  the constant talk of "celebrities" (buying of houses and how much they cost)  Its all rather bleak.  Bahh i say.  Time to get some lunch.

It has been almost a week since I had a quality beer.  Tonight i was able to correct that infraction.  Here it is in all its glory.

Great Divide Espresso Yeti.

If you like strong beer 9% and the glory of coffee flavors this is the beer for you.  Kind of pricey $8.00 but well worth it.

This blog is going to be for my random rants.  Some of these rants will make a lot of sense and some unfortunately will leave you wondering WTF was he talking about. I will always try to keep  the beginning of each in a logical, easy to follow style, but after the first few sentences all bets are off.

Also....many of these will probably be when I am drunk so the grammar might be a bit lacking. (Hopefully not too bad)

Beers that I feel are worthy of mention/praise will be given acknowledgement.

Southern Tier Gemini

This was the last quality beer I had. Pricey 8.50 per glass but very good and rather strong 10%.  If you like beer and you have access to this I highly recommend it.  Cheers!!
